On Monday my sweet boy Brinton turned 10 years old. Each one of my children's birthdays are special but with Brinton they are EXTRA SPECIAL...mostly because when he was younger I never felt certain he would see the next birthday.
I just wanted to jot down a couple funny memories from this most special 10th birthday.
1. On Sunday night before his birthday he was up late completing his science fair project presentation. Usually the kids go to sleep at 9pm but it was close to 11 and he was still awake. He asked if he could stay up until he turned 10. I told him that technically he wouldn't be 10 until 6:15pm the next day which adjusted for time zone (since he was born in Vegas and we're now in Kansas) would really be 4:15pm....he gave me this look like MAH-OM! So I let him stay up until midnight (the awesome mom that I am) and I sang him Happy Birthday gave him 10 packs of gum and sent him off to bed. He was asleep before his head hit the pillow!
2. At school...on his birthday...he had to watch "THE video" He came home and said "MOM!!! Do you believe they made me watch "THE video" on my birthday?! " LOL! (for those of you that don't know what I'm talking about.....I'll tell you when you're older)
3. We decided to take Brinton out for his birthday dinner. The cnversation went like this:
Me: Hey Brinton where do you want to go for your birthday dinner? (thinking he'd say some fast food chain or pizza)
Brinton: Um...Jim's Steakhouse! (too bad the money tree is broken!!)
Happiest Birthday Wishes to my 2nd oldest! I love you Bubba!
