A last minute December Birthday Party....

Having a December birthday can either be amazing (double the presents in a very short time) or not so amazing (one present to cover both occasions). Another issue with having a December Birthday is the near inability to plan a birthday party...with school parties, cookie exchanges, church parties, ice skating parties, work holiday parties, and the list goes on, there is hardly a free moment for anyone to plan or attend a December birthday party. Generally, Elise's parties have been very small, and few and far between. Let's just say that in her short 6 years she has only had 2 of them. This year however she is a "big" girl, with friends in Kindergarten, girl scouts, and church. How could I say NO to a party when this was the first year she could really enjoy it completely?! But deny her I did. :( I kept putting off for later, trying to come up with plans for a trip to the movies, just her and I or Ice Cream with one friend, but she wasn't taking the bait...nope...this girl wanted a party! So a party we had! Thanks to wonderful friends I was able to throw together a party on Monday the 15th at Chuck E. Cheese with little to no notice. It turned out to be the least expensive party (thanks to amazing coupons on ChuckECheese.com with free tokens and pizza) and also the most easy going, fun party we've had for any of our children...EVER.

I'm glad that we were able to throw it all together and that her friends were able to attend. She even got a few gifts out of the deal (although we seriously didn't expect anything with such short notice). So I'm now gonna call myself the "Queen of the last minute December birthday party" No autographs, please :)
