As I said in my last post, Ashlynne, had an awesome experience in preparing for the dedication of the Temple. The youth of the temple attendance boundaries were given the opportunity to participate in a beautiful production called "One Heart in the Heartland." They worked tirelessly for months preparing and practicing. Each stake was given a theme and a set of dances, songs, etc. to work on. Ashy had the honor of being chosen as one of the featured dancers in the production. The most amazing part about the whole thing was that President Monson was in attendance (seated just one section and about 7 rows above us!!!) and all the youth that participated had their names sealed in the time capsule in the cornerstone of the temple.
I can't even begin to tell you how cool this Cultural Celebration was, over 3,000 youth ages 12-18 participating!! Singing, dancing. It was just phenomenal. It was really hard to get a good picture because of the lighting and the camera and the movement but here are a couple....
Standing in the kitchen showing off her costume. We made the white apron.
I know it's hard to see BUT that dancing blur...second one in from the right?? That's Ashlynne in the featured dancing part :)
The two girls kneeling at the end of the song?? Yep my girl (on the right) and one of her friends.
What a phenomenal experience! There's nothing quite like being part of a ginormous group - all sharing the same beliefs, celebrating a new temple - just WOW!
