"Routine MRI" It actually REALLY stinks that Brinton even has to have a "Routine MRI." Every 4-6 months he goes under general anesthesia at Children's Mercy Hosiptal and has an MRI/MRA of his neck to assess where the vertebrae placement is and how much its affecting the spinal cord and when we have to do surgery. The orthopaedic surgeon comes in while Brinton is under sedation and does some flexion and extension tests on his neck to get all the information he needs. Each time we hope that we will hear good news and that we can put off the surgery a few more months...or a year...or a lifetime (not likely). We will get the results on August 26th at his follow-up appointment with the surgeon and his neurosurgeon....seriously hoping they just schedule another "routine" MRI.
