28...

Me, this morning at 9:15am....I'm 28!

2 years closer to 30...8 years further from 20...

I'm really not sure how I feel about this birthday. I've written this post several times in a couple different ways but I think at the heart of it what I really want to say is....Yay! I'm 28, I don't feel any different, I'm happy with the things I've accomplished in the last year and I look forward to an awesome year ahead of me.

This year I have the added bonus of being in New Orleans for the week. So really I'm just going to take in all the sounds, sights, smells, tastes and enjoy every minute....afterall it is MY BIRTHDAY WEEK, right?!

As a tradition I now present to you 28 little known facts about me (this was a huge task this year as I have done this for the last several years and I didn't want to repeat anything...let me tell you that.was.super.hard)

1. I'm originally from New York City....Bayside, Queens to be exact

2. When I was 4 years old I was standing at the top of the stairs outside our apartment building with my doll and her cute little stroller, the phone rang inside the house and mommy told me to stay put....I didn't and tumbled down a flight of cement stairs. OUCH!

3. I was nearly kidnapped on my way to school in 6th grade. We ran for our lives and luckily we were safe....when we told the school they didn't do a dang thing.

4. I hate talking on the phone. I am just no good at it. It's an odd thing, I know.

5. I took Russian from 8th through 10th grade because I hated French, I already spoke Spanish and the German teacher in Middle School was weird

6. In 11th grade I took German....because of a boy....

7. I can only speak English & Spanish now....and I only speak Spanish if I absolutely have to, otherwise I make believe that Yo no hablo Espanol :)

8. I had a dream a couple days before I had Ashlynne that she was a poodle. As irrational as it may seem when I was in labor with her I was terrified my dream might actually come true! LOL!

9. I had 4 children under the age of 5 by the time I was 24

10. I HATE STYROFOAM. It's a phobia...it makes me cringe...the sight of it, the sound of it BLECH!!!

11. I also hate potatos that have sprouted....just looking at the sprouts give me the heebee jeebees.

12. I love mangos....they are the most amazingly magical fruit.....next to strawberries

13. I want more children

14. I'm scared that I'm getting so close to 30, not sure why but it makes me a little antsy.

15. This is the first birthday I'll spend without my mommy....I miss her.

16. My favorite movie is 50 First Dates

17 My favorite TV Show is House

18 My favorite reality show is American Idol/SYTYCD

19. My favorite song is Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler

20. When I was a little girl I always dreamed of being on TV. There was this one commercial that I vaguely remember where these little boys were nice and helped this little girl out....I really don't remember the whole context but at the end of the commercial it would say "From the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints...THE MORMONS" and I would always tell my mom that I wanted to be in that commercial. I thinks its funny now that I look back because at the time my family was catholic and didn't know about the "mormon church" and here I am 20 some odd years later and I am one!! :)

21. As I write this blog my 3 year old is in our Hotel room watching a commercial for Family Guy and laughing like crazy....that can't be good.... ;)

22. I tried Alligator for the first time last night....it did not taste like chicken

23. I once drove my car into the side guard rail on the I-15 just outside of Fillmore, UT because I was swatting at a fly instead of paying attention to the road....oops....then I was so embarassed that it was because I swatted a fly that I LIED to my husband and told him a dog had darted out in front of me (ON THE FREEWAY) and I swerved to not hit him and subsequently ran into the guard rail....I later confessed that I had fibbed a little and he just laughed at me...I guess my story wasn't all that convincing

24. If I were turning 24 this year this would be the last random fact

25. I wear I size 8 shoe....and I love shoes....just in case you wanted to know

26. I LOVE 90's music.
