1st birthday down on the farm....

A year ago I gave birth to little Mister Liam Conor. His birth was highly anticipated and the journey seemed to drag on forever. But on April 26, 2008, after 43 weeks of anxious, impatient, expectation Liam Conor Bowles made his entrance into this world by natural home birth.

This year it was with great excitement and anticipation that we awaited his 1st Birthday Celebration. We chose to hold it "Down on the Farm" at the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead, with our family and several of our friends.

Jeremiah and I prepared the "cookie cake" together and I put the finishing touches on at the last minute when we arrived at the farm.

After enjoying our snacks, singing happy birthday, opening presents, and partaking of the deliciously sugary cookie cake and chocolate pudding we entered the Farm to enjoy some animals.

Throughout the day Liam was so happy and excited that he kept wiggling and doing a "Happy Dance." I could hardly get any photos of him because he kept grooving to his internal happy music. I was so delighted that he sensed the excitement of the day and that he was so incredibly happy. For one of his gifts he received a pinwheel and because the weather was so windy he had so much fun watching it spin around and around.

Liam has brought so much joy to our family. He is a very, very sweet and cuddly baby and he LOVES to give hugs and kisses. He smiles and his big brown eyes just sparkle. He crawls everywhere, climbs EVERYTHING (including my kitchen counters), and he walks with help although he still lacks confidence to walk alone. (Although he has gone over 10 steps...he is just a little lazy...lol) He sings...La, La, La...(It's totally cute) and he says Mama, Dada, Grampa, Nanna (for Julianna), Seess (for Elise), and Sheshus (for Jesus).

Happy Birthday Liam!!

happy birthday, Liam! I love the photos--he is sooo cute. I love hat pictures, but my favorite ones are the first one (newborn) & the one in the swing (I don't think his smile could get any bigger).

hope you have settled in at your new home. time does fly!

Happy birthday to him. He is absolutely adorable and looks like he enjoyed every minute of his birthday. I love his nicknames. You need to get those on tape.

I'm glad you ate BEFORE you went to play with the animals. That way you didn't eat with "stuff" on your hands;)
