Happy Birthday to ME! Yipee!

So not to toot my own horn or anything....okay fine I'll toot my own horn, no one is gonna do it if I don't, right?! hee, hee

So this absolutely wonderful girl named Alida was born on September 15, 1981 (that means I'm 27, people!)in the small town of New York City, NY (okay so maybe not so small) It was such a blessed day that her family even recieved a letter from the mayor of that small city congratulating them on the birth. (true story) At this time I would like to recognize this amazing mother of 5 with a little birthday tribute to include 27 little known facts about the birthday girl. :)

1. I was born in Long Island Jewish Hospital

2. I attended Catholic School for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd grade.

3. My 3rd grade teacher and I didn't get along much and I refused to return to Catholic School the following year for 4th grade...I basicaly signed myself up at the public school the next year (well I dragged my mom there against her will...sort of)

4. I love History...it became my favorite subject when I got a 112% on my 4th grade US History test. I then realized I was a master historian and therefore queen of the world...duh

5. My favorite color is purple and any shade thereof...it came from a wierd love of Barney in Junior High...yes I said Junior High and Barney the dinosaur

6. I have had an obsession with sunflowers since 6th grade...that's why it's so cool that the Kansas state flower is the Sunflower....it was destiny :)

7. I moved to Utah on the last day of 6th grade in NY...I thought it was a vacation but then my parents decided to move and I have never returned to New York

8. I went to Junior High with Donny Osmond's son...that's like my claim to fame right there...lol

9. I took Russian for 3 years and the only thing I can remember how to say is "OUR MOTHER IS NOW AT THE RESTHOME" I can't even write it because it's a completely different alphabet but trust me, I can say it.

10. I went to Timpview High School for the first part of my freshman year...then part way through I decided to switch schools and I checked myself out of school ( a pattern with me...see #3) and the next day dragged my dad over to Provo High to register me. He couldn't really say no cause I'd already checked out of Timpview...plus I was his little princess

11. I was on the dance team in High School....admittedly we weren't very good.

12. I was also in choir...we were very good

13. The day of my senior prom was the day of my wedding...I obviously attended the wedding ;)
****Clarification:Technically it was my senior prom...however I was attending UVSC because I graduated early. But if I had actually had a senior year it would've been my senior prom....


14. For the first 6 months of my marriage we ate potato casserole with cornflakes on top nearly every night

13. I had three children by the time I was 21

14. I went to college for a degree in paralegal studies and I worked for a law firm for 5 years

15. I hate roller coasters...I rode the one at California Adventure and nearly died...nearly

16. I'm not as interesting as I claim to be

17. I am a really good singer...yeah I'm conceded so what?! It's completely true and I'm proud of it...I'll be in the Tab choir someday...just watch. :)

18. I was the Vice President of College Republicans...now politics bore me...well when my husband is talking about them..hee hee

19. I have never read the Harry Potter books...after seeing the 1st movie it killed the reading experience for me so now I just sit back and say BRING ON THE MOVIE

20. My feet have grown two sizes since I've had all my babies and my hair is alot darker...well my natural color would be...

21. I love the smell of Sharpie's and rubbing alcohol....but I'm not a huffer...I promise

22. I once crushed up a pack of Smarties and tried to snort them during my 7th grade math class...it was a dare...it really burned

23. Soon after I got my license I was in the school parking lot and I can't remember where I was going but I was backing out of my parking spot and talking to my friend (actually Jana if you are reading this it was you in the car with me and I think it was during a play practice...lol) anyway I backed into another car....I left....I'm fairly certain there wasn't any damage, I can't remember if I got out to to check...probably not

24. I was meeting Jeremiah for lunch at the Olive Garden one day and I walked in and there was this guy who looked like Jeremiah with his back toward me. I walked up to him and said "Hey Hot Stuff" or something like that...he turned around and it wasn't Jeremiah...I got the oddest look. I was so incredibly embarassed....I do things like that ALL THE TIME

25. I really like to wear my hair in braids...my dad says I look like "La India Maria"(if you knew who that was you'd totally laugh I promise)....so now I rethink the braids but it makes me sad cause I really think they are cute :)

26. Hi My Name is Alida and I'm addicted to Pepsi/Coke no ice please....

27. I secretly wish that I'll be discovered and headline on Broadway...it'll never happen but a girl can wish right?! :)
