The truth about Castor Oil...

I woke up yesterday morning determined to hold my sweet little boy in my arms. I talked to him and told him that it was time for him to come and then I drank 4 oz of castor oil with orange juice. I like to call it a CastorOrange Cocktail. It honestly wasn't as awful as I thought it would be, however burping it up later wasn't the best tasting thing (imagine eating a spoon full of vaseline.) So after a few hours my stomach started to gurgle, but would you believe that nothing really happened beyond gurgles and a couple seriously mild trips to the restroom?! 4 ounces of that stuff and barely anything!! At around 8pm last night I started to have some contractions 10 min apart at first and then 6-7 minutes apart for roughly 3to 4 hours. They were very manageable but they were contractions after all...eek! I was getting excited but I was also pretty tired so I figured I'd conserve some energy and went to bed sometime after midnight. Well you guessed it...I woke up this morning without contractions! So I've had some very painful sporatic ones today but I haven't been keeping track of them. So bottom line...the truth about Castor Oil is, even if you are 4cm dilated and fully effaced, the baby is engaged completely and head down and everything is perfect for labor except that baby is being stubborn....4 ozs. of Castor Oil doesn't work! (maybe I should've done 6oz?!)

It depends on what due date you go by...If you go by March 29th I am nearly 4 weeks overdue...If you go by April 16th I am 1 week, 1 day overdue...and if you go by the 18th I am almost a full week overdue. Either way you look at it I am overdue...ewww...

Thanks for your well wishes April!!

Alida, I am still really praying for the safe arrival of that beautiful baby.
I know you are exhausted, but do remember he is in there for a reason and he won't be there forever. God has a plan even when we aren't comfortable with it.

Awww babe. I check in often hoping to see he has come. That stinks that the castor oil didn't work. Just having the guts to actually drink it should be enough to make you go into labor. Maybe Liam wants you to buy him a pony or something? Have you even tried to bribe him yet?

Ahhhh! I was checking your blog almost everyday for awhile thinking he has to be here. Well, I gave up a few days ago and forced myself not to check so that when I did check the next time I would be sure to see an adorable little Eli. I can NOT believe you are still pregnant! Sorry!
