Surgery Update

Sorry it took so long to update....it's been a little crazy for the last few days. We got off to a bit of a rough start but the surgery went really well.

Brinton was scheduled to have his oral surgery at 2:30pm at the surgery center. I had just finished filling out all the info and we were told that the equipment at the surgery center had malfunctioned and we were being moved to another surgery center. So we packed Brinton up and headed over there. I then had to fill out the information a second time and wait for more than and hour for Brinton to be taken back but finally they called him.

We went back with the nurse where he got in his cute little gown and they gave him some medicine to get the anesthesia going. Within in minutes Brinton was a little goofy. He became really sleepy and began demanding some gum that would make his tounge turn blue. Needless to say the medicine had him a little "drunk" for lack of a better word.

The nurse came and got him for surgery, we said our goodbyes and began the wait. Roughly, an hour and half later they called us in and he had semi-woken up from surgery. He was still quite lethargic and extremely upset. After we took him home he slept most of the night. When all was said and done they pulled 5 teeth, did root canals on the remaining teeth and capped them.
He is still trying to figure out how to bite into food without the front four teeth but he is doing really well and eating tons!

The best part of the surgery was the $$ that the tooth fairy brought him for all those teeth! He felt like he won the lottery!! LOL!!
