The Music Man...

Ashlynne had the wonderful opportunity to be in the Mid America Nazarene University's spring production of "The Music Man." She played a "River Citian" and so much fun being in her very first BIG musical. Rehearsals began in January and went through to the beginning of April. Many, many, many hours were put in to the show and in the end it definitely showed. Towards the end of the rehearsals when they were running the full show there were nights Ashlynne wouldn't even come home until 11pm!! But even with the rigorous schedule of being in a full musical she still managed to keep her grades up and gained all A's. She even had state assessments in reading and math during that time and got superbly high scores on both. We are very, very proud of her.

On the last night of the show I gave her my camera so she could take some pictures backstage...

Ashlynne and her friends Ally, & Kylee (who played Amaryllis)

Ashlynne with Taylor & Karissa, who played Professor Harold Hill & Marian

Ashlynne & Ally with the Mayor or River City (He's actually the REAL Mayor of Olathe, where we live...not everyday you get to be in a musical with your Mayor!!!)

Ashlynne and Mrs. Paroo

Dance Party backstage before the show to get ENERGIZED!

Then the silliness began!! The kids decided to start reenacting scenes from the show! HAHA! I laughed so hard when I started looking through these pictures!!

I am so glad she got to be a part of such an awesome cast of people! She had such an amazing time and has definitely been bitten by the theater bug! :)
