Stand still....

I seem to be at a blogging stand still. There are months that go by where I must get my thoughts down almost daily and share little things with those that read my blog (all 3 of you) Then there are times when I just can't seem to think of anything besides a special event to document.

I started blogging just before we left Las Vegas so that I could keep touch with those around me. When we moved to Kansas it became almost a necessity of sorts, I was so lonely and I needed a way to reach out to people. Also, it became a way to keep in touch with my parents and keep them up to date on what we were doing...how the kids were...that sort of thing. Now, however, my mother has since passed away, my father has relocated to Kansas, and my inlaws don't really follow this blog at all. Basically, I don't know what to make of my blog anymore.

This blog has served a great purpose for me because I enjoy going back and reading things we did last year or the year before. In truth I've forgotten some of those things and it's nice to have a record of it. I've wanted to compile my blog into one of those blog books for posterity sake but those books are kind of expensive, maybe next year. So now I'm at a stand still....do I force myself to blog a few times a week? Go private and just keep blogging for me? Do I just stop blogging altogether? Does anyone but me really even care?

(In response to that last question I'm pretty sure I hear a loud, boisterous NO from the peanut gallery)

Don't feel pressured to blog. Just do it when you feel like it. It works great for me and takes away any guilt when I remember I decided to do it only when I feel like it.

That's exactly what I was going to say. I use it as an outlet for myself. I also copy/paste my posts to ldsjournal.com They have a less expensive book maker, if you want that, but it's not as fancy :) Either way, it's yours; do with it what you want!

First of all let me say, I love reading your blog and seeing what fun things your family is up to, but blogging shouldn't be a chore.
It seems like when things are busy, I don't feel the need to blog but then there are times when I want to blog daily. I guess I go through spurts. (honestly I haven't picked up a camera since mid November.)

I love to read about what you and your cute family are doing. If you go private I would love for me to add me so I can still see how you are doing.

I love reading about your wonderful family and seeing how your kids are growing up. Don't give up, just blog when you can. Once a day or once a year, it's all good! I haven't posted since early November.

I'm a reader too! I agree with what everyone else has said. If blogging becomes a chore, it also becomes a whole lot less fun. Just blog when you have something you want to share. In the meantime, enjoy your beautiful family!

Thanks for blogging. Just because I don't leave a lot of comments, doesn't mean I don't read. I'll keep reading as long as you keep writing:)

I feel ya, Alida. I'm mentally hung up the blog thing a bunch of times . . . still considering it. Guess you gotta decide if it's fun or a burden. You seem to make it fun though. No pressure - we all know you have a life outside of typing a few words on a computer a few times a week. You're awesome!
