Me, this morning, in my van...where else?!These days I live my life in my minivan. I check my email and my Facebook from my cellphone and I rarely touch a real computer anymore. Sad. This move has proven to be the demise of the consistent blogger that I once was.
A typical day begins at 7am preparing the 2 older children for school. Just before 8am we pile into my van and drive 20 minutes across town to drop them off at school (we didn't transfer when we moved...they will start their new, much closer school next school year.) After dropping them off I then make my 20 min drive back home. Beginning at 9am I start the days chores and attend to the 3 younger kids. At 11:00 I make lunch, prepare my kindergartner for school, pile into my van and drive her 20 minutes across town to drop her off at school. On the way home I generally run my errands which always take me much to long to complete. Generally they leave me enough time to run the groceries home, pile back into the van and drive across town to pick the kids up from school. The drive home usually takes a little longer as ALL THE DANG SCHOOLS IN OLATHE ARE ON MY PATHWAY HOME!!! (ok...little over exaggeration) I get home at 4:30ish just in time to start homework/dinner/etc./etc. Somedays there is also scouts, activity days, cheerleading, and playdates, to attend to at some point during the evening. At 8:00 it's baths, 8:30 "relax time" (for the kids only), and lights out at 9:00pm. By then I'm so exhausted all I want to do is crawl into bed, watch some DVR'd shows and fall asleep.
Did I mention my husband now travels for work and he is very rarely home during the week?!

Ugh! That was my life as a Nanny in New York! I bet you are as exceited for summer break as the kids will be!! :) Keep up the great work! Your kids know you're Awesome!
Sorry! Love the picture though. I miss laughing with you! At least the school year is almost over, or are you on year round?

I hate "living" in my van!! You are a good mom to keep your children at their "old" school--especially so close to the end of the school year!
We only have 7 more days of school--waa--hooo :)
But I don't know if summer/no school makes your life slow down or speed up??
Hang in there!
I got tired just reading that! I swear, sometimes I feel that way with just two kids, I can't imagine all the driving demands for 5! You really are superwoman!
Been there, done that! Hang in there! There are days now that I don't drive more than two miles, most of them actually. Really.
I love you!
