If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes...

My kids on a Beautiful "Spring-y" Day in February

On Feb 2nd the little groundhog up there in Punxsutawney, PA decided there's 6 more weeks of winter.

However, Kansas has it's own plans.

Kansas is a funny little State. I've heard it said by more than a hand full of people here "If you don't like the weather...wait 5 minutes!" Oh boy, is that true! One minute it's snowing...then it's sunny...then it's freezing...then it's raining...then it's breezy but beautiful....then it's so cold that you feel it in your bones and then it's clear and sunny again....

I'm pretty sure Kansas suffers from a multiple personality disorder of sorts. Seriously. Or maybe the hot and cold flashes are indicative of...well...ummm...I mean Kansas has been a state for like 148 years, so she must be getting to "that age" if you know what I mean?! Either way Kansas has an identity crisis when it comes to weather.

A couple of weeks ago while she was going through one of her "hot flashes" we had this amazingly beautiful Saturday weather. We basked in the sunshine and we even went coat-less( all except for Liam, I kept him bundled pretty tight)...in FEBRUARY!! It was amazing! We decided to go to the ZOO and enjoy the nice weather, apparently so did most every other Kansas/Missouri family with a zoo pass!! It was crowded but we enjoyed the family time.

After the zoo we braved the park for an hour or so....with every other family that decided to go to that very same obscure park! (We thought we were being so clever) I got a little photo happy and took a trillion pictures because I didn't have to worry about my fingers freezing to the camera.

All in all it was a perfect Spring day in the middle of a never ending winter and I have the pics to prove it...so take THAT Punxsutawney Phil!!!!

Glad you got some nice weather to get those kiddos outside. It's so nice to run outside! Adorable picture of all of them.

I love Ashlynne's blog by the way. Jasmine has one too. I think it will be so neat for them to check it years from now and see what they wrote, how they wrote and what was important tot hem.

I would love to have some nice spring-like weather here. I am getting pretty sick of the snow and ice...but I'll have to be patient. I guess I should just come visit you guys and experience every kind of weather in a few minutes' time. Lol.

I miss the spring!! I can't wait for it! A few weeks ago, we had really nice weather, then last week it started snowing...and snowing...it snowed again last night. (sigh) I guess I'll just be that much more grateful when it finally does get here!! Cute pic of the kiddos!
