No room in the Inn...

For years Jeremiah has wanted to build a Nativity to celebrate the true reason for the season....the birth of Jesus Christ. The scene of the nativity brings thoughts of the journey of Mary & Joseph. Mary was heavy with child and ready to give birth at any moment. They were turned down at every door, there was "No room in the Inn...."

In Las Vegas we were living life fast and furiously...always going...always doing...always working...we never had the opportunity to realize this desire because we never MADE the opportunity. In a way we had no room in our inn. However, living here in Kansas has certainly taught us a thing or two about slowing down and about spending more quality time with each other. In turn we've been able to do a lot of things we've been saying we wanted to do but never had the time for.

On Friday morning Jeremiah decided to build his "dream nativity" in our front yard. He found some discarded palettes, brought them home, and went to work. Within half an hour we had the coolest little stable for Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out and it's a little reminder to me to slow down and let Christ in this Christmas season....because HE is the reason for the season and I should always have room in the inn.

This is fantastic! Jeremiah really did a great job on it! And thanks for the reminder to have room in our "inn" as well.

Very Cool! Good Job.

CJ keeps teasing that we're going to move to Montana or the Dakota's or somewhere where there is NOTHING to do but Slow Down. I know what you mean about Vegas, even when I stop teaching preschool, pull out of Secretary in the PTA, get released from Primary Chorister... I still don't have time for anything. Too Busy, Too Much, Too Often.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for that! I was just talking to Brad about doing something different besides going crazy to buy everything just because it's Christmas. I'm really starting to dislike that part of Christmas. Cute Idea for the calendar. That is perfect! Hope you have a Merry Christmas!
