I am somewhere around 38 weeks pregnant. Went in for my checkup with Kaye, my midwife, this morning. Last week, Liam was in "perfect position," but today not so much. I went in and she checked my blood pressure and had me lay down to check the baby and it turns out he has decided he wants to be breech. So he is head up and feet down! (We went through this at about 30 weeks but he corrected himself quickly and it wasn't so close to my due date so the worry was low)
She was checking everything out on the ultrasound machine as she lubed up my belly and attempted to try and help the baby turn a bit. The midwife assistant monitored the heartbeat...I have never felt so disgustingly sick in my life! Next to birth this was probably the most discomfort I have ever had. She wasn't able to get him to budge much, though. So she gave me all this info on my choices at this point. First was a list of all the different types of treatments and things I can do to try and get the baby to turn. Next, she said I can have a breech birth at home, she also has a dr who is experienced in doing it at the hospital (but they will have to beg him to take me since I'm not really his patient) and of course last case is c-section. Which I want to avoid like the plague. Needless to say I have spent most of the day crying...I'm feeling so helpless right now. Not to mention my husband leaves for Kansas in 2 weeks! What if I don't have him before he leaves....There are too many things going on right now and I feel so out of control I am not used to that feeling. Anyhow thats my crappy news today... please pray for us.

I wish I had some advice for you but you know I've only had C Sections which you DON'T want to hear about.
I'm sure it all will be fine, have faith.

Alida, did Kaye say if he was low in your pelvis? If he hasn't settled in, you have a good chance of floating him up with inversions. Look at spinningbabies.com. There is a youtube video on her blog that shows how to do them (I realize now that when I did them before with Mara, I wasn't nearly inverted enough for her to move). Also, can you get to a chiropractor and see about having the Webster technique done? You need about 2 or 3 adjustments (one every other day), so get in now, if you can. I'll try to call you again today. HUGS!
