I received this email today called the HINCKLEY CHALLENGE...reading the Book of Mormon in 97 days. Our family has decided to step up and take the challenge. Tonight during Family Home Evening we talked about Latter-day Prophets and about the announcement of President Thomas S. Monson becoming the new president of our church. What better way to honor the memory of our beloved prophet President Hinckley and what a great goal to set to finish the Book of Mormon in just a few short months. We started today and when it is all said and done if we are diligent we will be done by May 10, 2008. YAY! We will keep you up to date with our progress.
"President Hinckley often stressed our making the Book of Mormon part of our lives. He was 97 when he passed away, and we would like to celebrate his life and teachings by reading the Book of Mormon in 97 days." (From the website)
If you would like to take the Hinckley Challenge, too:
**Go to www.hinckleychallenge.com and create an account (free, of course).
**Each day you read, record what page number you are on by going to

We did the same thing last night. I'm glad a lot of people are doing this.
We are doing it too! We were good last night but tonight not so good. Keep me posted this way it will help keep me on track:) Gr8 post! April
We are already behind ;(
We need to get back on the ball-I like your chart on the side.
We are still hanging by a thread! We are behind but we read this morning. Well-2 of us did. I think it's so good because In a way I feel like I am showing my respect to such a great man and because of him I am trying to stick to reading the Bom! See I get tears in my eyes just thinking of him! I hope we all can make it! Time will tell...I find it easier to read the soft blue BOM-The cheap ones- They dont overwelm me like my nicer ones? Go figure! April
Alright, so I'm a goober and not doing it. I have been trying really hard this year to keep with the Sunday School lessons (even though I'm in primary now).
I knew if I tried to do this it would get me way off and so far I've been doing pretty good, which is more than I can say for years past. I'm glad you are doing it. Good luck!
