JANUARY 18, 2008 - HANNAH MONTANA/MILEY CYRUS
The kids really wanted to go to the Hannah Montana Concert but the tickets were sold out and the resellers were asking outrageous prices. On the day of the concert a couple friends of mine let me know that there were some really reasonably priced tickets on Craigslist....so I found 4 tickes for less than face value, I met someone in a dark alley handed over the $$, he handed me 4 tickets and we were on our way to the concert. (okay not that dramatic but it felt that way...)
Let me just say the concert was AMAZING! Really.
JANUARY 19-21, 2008 - Quick Trip to Fresno, CA
We got a call on Saturday morning that Jeremiah's 87 year old grandma wasn't doing very well. We had been planning to go see her in February but we felt a sense of urgency so we packed a big duffle bag for all of us, jumped in the car and headed to Fresno, California. 8 hours we arrived, tired as can be. It was a wonderful visit with Grandma GG(my kids call her this becuase she is great grandma - hence the GG)She sang "I love you a Bushel and a Peck" with the kids, spent lots of time talking with Jeremiah, and he was even able to give her a blessing with her home teachers. On the day afternoon that we left she was admitted to the hospital and while waiting we got a few pictures with her. She was singing "How Great thou Art" while we took pictures and it really mader me tear up quite a bit. She is an amazing woman.

JANUARY 23, 2008 - ELISE CHILDRENS ER VISIT
Elise has been really sick...turns out she has a huge ear infection in both ears caused by her new asthma medication. Her asthma is acting up a ton...she is coughing so much she sounds like a smoker!! Poor thing. Hopefully the harsh antibiotics they gave her will start working soon!
JANUARY 26, 2008 - PINEWOOD DERBY
Brinton participated in his packs Pinewood Derby. His car was super fast! He decided to make an Optimus Prime truck which he designed with his dad. He is only 6 so he needed quite a bit of help but he sanded the wood, helped paint, put on the decals, bought the supplies and worked really hard on his car. He came in 5th overall and he got the Judges Favorite award cause his car was so amazingly cool!! :) (His car is the one in the middle....it was racing bumblebee...lol..Brinton won)
JANUARY 26, 2008 - DANCE RECITAL
The girls dance studio had their annual Winter Showcase. There was so much to do!! I had my 3 girls in the show, plus two musical theater classes, and two vocal students!! Not much time for picture taking but I didn't do too bad. This year to cut costs for parents they chose not to have full costumes for the Winter Showcase and keep the beautiful extravagant dance costumes for the Summer Recital.
Ashlynne was in:
Ballet piece to "March of the Children" from the King and I
Jazz piece to "Wake Up Little Suzie"
Tap piece to "Shining Star"
Musical Theater piece to "Seize the Day" from Newsies
Acro piece to "5-6-7-8"
and she did a vocal solo to "Castle on a Cloud" from Les Miserables
Elise was in:
A tap piece to "4'oclock Rock"
Julianna was in:
A ballet piece to "Me and my teddy bear"
Julianna and her friend Jaron waiting backstage before their Teddy Bear Dance...

Elise strikes a pose (you can hardly tell how sick she is)
