Picnic in the Park...

Saturday was such a beautiful day and we finally got a much needed break from the awful heat. The kids have been begging to do a picnic in the park for months but its just TOO HOT! It rained on Friday which really helped clear the air and bring in a steady cool breeze. It was wonderful. So after all of our Saturday chores, errands, and extra curricular activities were done we packed our picnic basket and headed over to the park near our home. We had tons of fun eating our PB&J sandwiches and watermelon slices (Elise commented "I hope the ants don't take our watermelon!") It was just so perfect. Then the kids played some made up game with Jeremiah with a frisbee and football which the kids called "FrizBall". I still never figured out the rules but they enjoyed it so much I didn't really care. Afterwards we spent sometime on the playground. Julianna decided to tackle the scary ladder and surprisingly she made it to the top without and cuts or bruises! All in all it was an amazing afternoon and I love being able to spend so much carefree time with the people I love most in this world, my family.
