100th Day of School Collection

Cute Little Button given to all the Kindy kids on the 100th Day

On the 100th day of school the Kindergartners were asked to bring in 100th day collections made up of 100 items. Julianna and I brainstormed what could she bring in??

We decided to make a list of 100 things she could bring for the 100th day. I was playing up the whole 100 thing. I never realized it'd be so hard to come up with 100 things but thank goodness for a smart, funny, creative 6 years old because she came up with the majority of this list!

and....drum roll please....

100. 100 Fingers....yes 100 Fingers.

Julianna wanted to have her hand traced 100 times but I thought that was just too much so we compromised with 100 FINGERS. Just 10 Pairs of hands traced and then mounted on poster board.

She cut out all but one pair of the hands out by herself and used a glue stick to put them all down on the poster board. It took her about 100 hours to cut those hands out but I wanted her to really take part in the whole project. After she was done gluing she wrote the title at the top. This was the hardest part for me to let go of because I'm a perfectionist but I really knew that it would mean more to her if she did the project than if I did the project. I think it came out beautifully and I'm proud of my little girl for all the hard work that she put into this project. Yay for 100 days of school!!!!

lol... I meant to comment on this back in February. We never even had a chance to discuss it. Will decided more than a year ago that he was going to take 100 gift cards. Que Grandpa to start collecting Walmart Fuel cards.
