If I'm right, today is the first Father's Day in nearly 27 years that I am not spending with my dad. My parents and I are very close, so the hardest part about moving to Kansas has been not seeing them. I honestly can't even begin to explain how absolutely amazing my dad is. He is one of the nicest, most selfless people I have ever and probably will ever known. For instance, most of you know that Brinton was born with a condition called Cystic Hygroma which kept us in and out of the hospital and dr's office nearly every week for his first few years of life. My parents literally gave up everything in Utah to come help Jeremiah & I out when we first moved to Vegas and were faced with a very sick little boy. Out of necessity, as the medical bills were rolling in, I went back to work and there was my dad taking care of two very small children while I was away. It didn't stop there, after I had Elise he continued to tend my children so I could continue working. Finally, he got his break when I had Julianna and was able to finally stay home. Even with that "break" he was still consistently there to help us at every turn. Often providing us with a much needed break from the kids in the form of a quiet night out. After Jeremiah got very sick and was in the hospital for over a week, things got rough again. After 16 months of stay at home bliss I again had to returned to work and guess who was there to save the day...my dad! But of course it doesn't stop there, my dad even came here to Kansas for a full month to be with my children while Jeremiah was working and I was still in Vegas waiting to have Liam!! Truly the list goes on and on and on, I could probably write a book entitled "The World's Most Amazing Dad." He is such an amazing person with such a strong testimony of the gospel and he has been such a great example of pure Christ-like love.
So Now, you tell me, what 60+ year old man do you know is willing to take care of 4 kids, change diapers, make meals...and all with the biggest smile on his face!? I don't know many...in fact I don't know any! I am so incredibly grateful for my father. For his love, his selflessness, and his total support. It's probably a little cliche but I believe I truly have the BEST DAD IN THE WORLD!
